Grace
Van Orden, principal, VOCOMM
Grace Van Orden, founder of Van Orden Communications, Inc., began her communications career in 1973 as a researcher, writer and management trainer at DPR Associates, Inc., a public relations agency in the Philadelphia area. Her areas of specialty include creating marketing campaigns, developing PR events, research and writing/editing articles, training manuals and press releases. During her 29-year PR career, she has provided public relations services to clients such as AT&T, ARCO, Nortel Networks, WE Women’s Enterprise, Lucas Associates, The Plaza Theatre in Dallas, City Fest International, Inc., MGM Services, Burger King, H&R Block and Burgdorf Real Estate. An experienced journalist, she was editor of newsletters for ABWA, AWED and the Stewart Title Women’s Quarterly. Her community and volunteer activities have included participation in the Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Plano Metropolitan Youth Ballet, Richardson (TX) Chamber of Commerce and Canyon Creek Elementary School PTA. She was presented with an “Outstanding Volunteer” award by the Deborah Heart and Lung Center, and received a “Distinguished Service” award from the Independent Order of Odd fellows and International Order of Rebekah Assemblies. Grace holds a BA Degree in Education Psychology from Kean College in Union, NJ, and is a MA Degree candidate in Education at The University of South Florida in Tampa.
